Ironically, Black Bear Soap Company was born of a love of getting dirty chasing adventure in the Maine Woods. A love of hunting Black Bears combined with the fine Downeast tradition of being unable to throw anything away left us with a supply of beautiful pure Black Bear tallow. Turns out it's great for a number of things including making fantastic soap.
Our team is a family, literally. We were born, raised and educated here. We're raising our kids here. Maine is special. Our products are a reflection of this.
The benefits of bear tallow for soap making can't be overstated. That said, bear tallow isn't for everyone and that's okay with us. We offer a line of 100% vegan soaps too.
